Garrett G-XRace-Series - Xtreme Power Meets Xtreme Performance.
Do you want to be the fastest? Then the new Garrett G-XRace series is just right for you!
G-XRace turbochargers are based on over 70 years of engineering and innovation and are developed by a global team of 1300 engineers in five research and development centres to ensure extreme durability and extreme performance.
- XBoost technology increases power and performance
- +16% compressor flow (GXR42-72 compared to G42-1200)
- Improved pressure ratio and higher boost pressure
- Increased efficiency at high flow rates
- Lower intake temperature
- For use in drag racing classes with compressor wheel inducer limits of 68.9, 72,9. Please check class rules before purchase
- Lightweight aluminium backplate
- Twin-scroll T4 and V-band turbine inlet flanges available to meet the needs of racers with different engines and manifold designs
- Rotation: Standard
- Turbine housings from the G42 series can be used
WARNING: The maximum permissible speed of the turbocharger is 109krpm. Use of this product above the maximum turbocharger speed is at your own risk and may result in damage and premature failure. To protect the turbocharger from overspeeding during operation, a speed sensor can be installed in the compressor housing to monitor the shaft speed. The sensors are available separately. - GXR42 and GXR45 turbos have been designed specifically to meet the requirements for the World Cup Finals (WCF), which is the largest drag race event in North America.
- Please note that the WCF rules do not have a compressor housing surge port (also referred to as the map groove) width rule. – see bellow illustration
- The surge port width, which is a compressor housing design feature, affects peak flow and therefore supporting power capability.
- There are classes in other NA organizations for the GXR45-67 and GXR45-73 that have a surge port width rule of 0.250” (6.35mm), which is smaller than the width on the released GXR turbos.
- Reducing the surge port width to 0.250” does reduce the peak flow.
- Therefore, Garrett will provide a differentiated solution compared to competitor products by selling separately compressor housings for the GXR45’s designed for classes with the 0.250” surge port width rule. This assures racers with an easy compressor housing change that they will have the highest power capable turbo per the rules for the class they are competing in. And for customers using the turbo on non-drag race applications or in classes without this rule, they can be assured they have the highest power capable configuration for the specific compressor inducer size.
